The charity Welsh Hearts has teamed up with a cardiac company to launch a free heart screening service. The Swansea University based cardiac diagnostic company will help children and adults to have free heart screening. Thanks to the partnership between charity Welsh Hearts and Cardiac Health Diagnostics, the move to offer screenings, could save lives. The free sessions are open to to children aged over 5 years and adults. Welsh Hearts provides across Wales, better access to life-saving defibrillators and heart screening.
The new service aims to raise awareness of heart conditions left undiagnosed, by providing to Welsh communities easy-to-access screening sessions. The session will be held throughout all areas of Wales, on a monthly basis. Each session can screen about 100 people. Screening sessions will be held on 21 May, Saturday, at Swansea University, from 9am to 4:30pm, then on 25 June, Saturday, at Merthyr Tydfil College, from 9am to 4:30pm and on 2 July, Saturday, at St. David’s Catholic College in Cardiff, from 9am to 4:30pm. To help continue with the project, a £10 donation is requested at the time of booking. More details and the free sessions will be published as available, on the website- www.welshhearts.org/heartscreeningwales.
