15th of September will set the week off as rabbit awareness week and people organising it are offering free health checks for rabbits.
Rabbit Awareness Week (RAW) will commence on the 15th of September and people who are fond of rabbits have been invited to back the current year’s awareness venture by taking ensuring that their pet rabbits are given a health check free of cost.
The main objective of the 2012 Rabbit Awareness Week venture is to stress the significance of periodical health checks at the vet and to ensure that the vaccinations are given on time. This is because it would safeguard one of the country’s most favoured tiny pets from two most dreaded and lethal diseases namely Myxpomatosis and Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease (RHD.
The wonderful thing about this is that the Rabbit Awareness Week is offering health checks for rabbits throughout the length and breadth of the UK at no cost to the owners, and is encouraging all rabbit owners to log on to the site www.rabbitawarenessweek.co.uk to determine where their nearest vet, retailer or rescue centre would be located, and to see which of them would be offering the free health checks in support of the RAW venture.
The associations that are sponsoring the current year’s Rabbit Awareness Week are Burgess Excel, RSPCA, MSD Animal Health, PSDA, Wood Green, the Animals Charity, Blue Cross and the Rabbit Welfare Association & Fund (RWAF).
