The organisers of the Salisbury Fringe Festival are offering a free evening event, the Fringe-Preview, as a taster for the 2015 festival (to be held on 2, 3 & 4 October). So, on 9th May, Saturday, at the Cloisters pub and restaurant, on Catherine Street, professional actors will perform two short plays, written by local writers, in the evening. One performance will start at 6.00pm and the other at 9.00pm.
Six plays have been selected under ‘Short Cuts’ for new short plays, that will enthral the audience. Chairman of the Salisbury Fringe, Julian Demetriadi, said they were flooded by new plays for the Fringe Preview. The chosen plays make of the best entertainment and they look forward to welcoming new and existing theatre-goers, he added. The experienced selection panel had difficulty to make a final choice of 6 owing to the high standard of writing, he pointed out. He also said they were fortunately supported by a first rate team of professional actors and artistic director Andrew Thackeray, a highly talented person.
