There’s a sport festival at London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Saturday. Anyone can try to follow the footsteps of their sporting heroes at this free Stratford sport festival, this Saturday weekend. The free event here will feature 20 activities to be tried out and also give you a chance to meet Lizzy Yarnold, Olympic champion skeleton racer. Over 20 activities are open to all abilities and ages, also including disability sports. The free event is in culmination of the first European Week of Sport. Activities include adaptable cycling, new age curling and bubble football. There’s something new for everyone, besides the old favourites like football, basketball and hockey.
The park is a flagship for activities in UK and its Active People, Active Park programme is harnessing the park’s legacy to help draw in people of all backgrounds and all ages together, to increase physical activity and try out new sports. Participants need only to turn up at the South Lawn between 10:00AM and 4:00PM, near the ArcelorMittal Orbit, to take part in the free event of sport. There’s no booking required.
