Free Festival of Nature at Bath

The famous Festival of Nature at Bath will be coming back this year also on Saturday – June 1, 2019 at Green Park, Bath, BA1 1JB. This is a free family festival being celebrated for the 6th year and running between 11 am to 6 pm on the day.

The free festival will feature bigger and wonderful programmes with the theme of bringing nature to life. It will given families and children a great opportunity to explore more about the animals research, making garden, hearing stories etc. The event will also be hosted online which gives people around the world to get a chance to enjoy the festival events and activities with the help of collaboration with the Univery of Bath via iVent platform.

Programmes of the festival:

Animal Research – sessions by the researchers of University of Bath

Lazy Gardening – where you can explore more about plants and gardening that helps nature and free seeds to take along with you.

Meet the Spider Warriors – the story corner of the festival where you can listen stories of various authors including Emma Read sharing stories from Milton the Mighty.

Get crafty – session with Avon Wildlife Trust where you can do insect-themed willow crafts, hands on mini meadow planter and make a pledge for nature

Art in the park – there will be a celebration of urban green spaces in which the visitors are encouraged to take part, as a live animation will be done by Sam Church to mark the launch of the Bristol & Bath Parks Foundation.

Enjoy the park – the visitors can participate in a nature walk and enjoy delicious food and entertainment.

Try your hand at angling – a demo by Wessex Water and the Angling Trust and know more on local fishing spots or watch expert flyfishers on display.

Chief Executive of the Natural History Consortium, the organizer of the festival – Savita Willmott said that as they are bringing nature to the city, the festival is an incredible day. There will be a host of exhibitors inspiring all to help knowing about nature more. The launch of the digital festival is a really great inviting all share in the wonders of nature through the digital platform.
