Free Family Festival – Mysteries of the Dark at Natural History Museum, London

There is a special drop-in event at Natural History Museum, London. The festival is themed with amazing creatures that live in the dark. This is a free family event taking place from Tuesday – February 19 to Thursday 21, 2019. Just drop in for the free events at Orange Zone at the Natural History Museum, Cromwell Rd, Kensington, London SW7 5BD between 11 am to 4 pm on all three days.

This is a wonderful chance to enjoy with your family and educating children by visiting the museum during this half term and enjoy shows, games and events as detailed below.

Midnight Mystery Detective
There will be a fun based workshop for children aged 5+ years at Darwin Centre learning space between 11 am to 4 pm. Kids can become a detective and learn the animal tracking skills at the workshop to the find out the life of nocturnal animals.

Animal Story
There will be an interesting puppet show for the children aged 4+ years at Darwin Centre learning space and shows take place at 11 am, 12 pm, 1.30 pm, 2.30 pm & 3.30 pm. Kids can enjoy the Charlie, the fox and his woodland friends.

Owl Pellet Dissection
Children aged 5+ years can explore the world of owls and dissect its pellets to find out more about the species at Darwin Centre Atrium between 11 am to 4 pm.

Marine Exploration Station
Children aged 7+ years can enjoy and explore real ocean specimens and its dangers in the ocean at Zoology spirit building, Darwin Centre between 11 am to 4 pm.

Science shows
There is science shows at Attenborough Studio, Orange Zone.

Adventure to the Deep
There will be a good opportunity for the children aged 7+ years who can join for an adventure along with scientists helping them in exploring the things in the seas. Please bring your deep sea diving suit. The event is having limited spaces and will be served on first come, first served basis. The event will take place at 11.15 am & 2 pm.

Meet the Scientist
You can explore the nature’s secrets by having talks with scientists at the museum at 3 pm. The event is suitable for ages 8+ years and will be served on first come, first served basis.

Superheroes of the Dark
Children aged 5+ years can find out those wonderful species that have amazing skills to live in the dark at Darwin Centre Atrium between 11 am top 4 pm.

Scientist Discovery Stations
You can meet the scientists and interact with them for their stories of exploration on what they discovered at Darwin Centre Atrium between 11 am to 3.30 pm and suitable for ages 7+ years.

Hands-on Nature: Life in the Dark
You can find the real specimens how they are adapted to survive in the dark at Darwin Centre Atrium between 11 am to 4 pm and suitable for ages 7+.
