The Physical Fest is back in its 10th year. Liverpool’s Times Theatre and Physical Fest this year is being run from 23 My to 31 May. For the first time a special warm-up weekend too will be featured on 10th and 11th of May, before the main event, for young people and families. The event will be hosting a weekend full of free workshops and performances. A collaborative piece by Bluecoat, local students and local practitioners, will be hosted with others at the Blucoat, under the Times Theatre.
On 10 May, Saturday, there will be a workshop for developing juggling skills, led by Tim Lenkiewicz of Square Peg Contemporary Circus. Saturday will also host ‘Fest Out There’, a physical performance produced by a joint participatory project. On Saturday another workshop – Acrobatics for Families will be held. A final workshop will be by The Eggmen, to teach the basics of mask work.
On 11 May, Sunday, there will be a programme for carers and parents of children called Family Dance and Music Jam. A second session on Acrobatics and a physical comedy workshop by The Eggmen will be at the close of the programme. Physical Fest has become an international event with an exciting and diverse line up of entertainment and workshops. All these events and workshops are free but they need to be booked through The Bluecoat. For more details please go to www.physicalfest.com.
