There has been a free family bat walk organized by the Canal &River Trust on Friday – April 5, 2019. The event will be held at Fir Tree Fishery, The Nook, Appley Bridge WN6 9JB and will run from 7.10 pm to 9.10 pm.
This is a fun based evening event and the participants will be introduced to the bats and its species and how they live in the waterways. The evening event will begin with a short talk from introducing bats, different kinds of species of bats and their lifestyle and behavior and there will also be a session on how to use the bat detector.
After a short talk, there will be a short walk happening along the canal waterways where you can look for bats and listen to them at the night. The participants will be provided with bat detector by the organizer.
The participants will be offered refreshments after the walk. They participants are requested to wear warm clothes, suitable footwear and asked to bring a torch. This event is not suitable for prams and dogs.
