Day of the Region event at Withorn is a 2-day event that will be taking place from 19th to 21st September and with a launch event. It starts off with a silent documentary film on Whithorn, made by Urbancroft films. This initiative has comes from across Europe first and Dumfries and Galloway has adopted it too. The free event finds Withorn from the West of the Region, as the only community here of the many communities hosting the Day of the Region event.
Local people from the town and the surrounding areas, young and old, get the wonderful chance of many activities, like a treasure hunt, football, chess, dance, boxing, blacksmithing, upholstery, painting and yoga, all at no coat. Owing to limited space three events will be ticketed. The film event will be ticketed and has different show timings. The ticketed Vintage Fashion Show and the vintage cars demonstration will be followed by a Tea Dance with music and ballroom dancing, a delicious baking event, a school concert and many more.
