There are free events being taken place in the month of July organised by the West Sussex Parent Carer Forum with the support of the county council. The WSPCF is a registered charity led by parent carers and work in association with the local authority, health, social care, education and other organisations to help the children & youngsters between the ages of 0 to 25 years with additional needs & disabilities and their parent carers, to make improvements and positive changes in their lives. The charity do this help by providing information about various services, oppotunities available in the region and also providing training and support.
The parent carer forum is hosting and supporting for various events across West Sussex along with the county council by inviting local service organisations to provide information and advice. The following are their upcoming free events happening at West Sussex areas.
First steps to Adulthood
A free event called “First steps to Adulthood” is being held on Wednesday – July 4, 2018 at East Central Cafe at Crawley College, College Road, Crawley, RH10 1NR between 6 pm to 8 pm.
This is a drop in event and provides free information and advice for the parent carers with younger ones aged 14+ years. It brings organisations and services to provide information about what younger ones can do post school education. It will have more than 30 service providers and organisations stand in the event and will discuss about benefits, West Sussex Local Offer, Sport and Leisure, Specific Disability Organisations, Discount Cards, paid employment and more.
Wills & Trusts
Free event called “Wills & Trusts – Planning for the Future” has been organised on Wednesday – July 4, 2018 at The Arena Sports Centre, Westloats Lane, Bognor Regis, PO21 5LH between 7 pm to 9.30 pm.
The information event is to provide information to carers about Wills/Trusts and how to support a disabled/special care required person even if the parent/carer is not there with them. Coffee Cake & Networking Event
Free event called “Coffee Cake & Networking Event” has been organised on Wednesday – July 11, 2018 at Billingshurst Community Centre, Roman Way, Billingshurst RH14 9EW between 10.30 am to 1 pm.
This is a drop in event for carers of children with additional needs & disabilities (0-25 years) and children are also welcome. So just make a visit and find information, support and speak to the organisations along with coffee and cake and meeting other parents The event is aimed in bringing various support organisations and services to provide information on education, activities and support of the carers/ families.
