Leicester city is getting ready for the Christmas eve this year, as the city council has opened up various festive events across the city. So the residents and whoever is visiting Leicester can enjoy well with many free events at the city.
The events include Christmas lights switch-on, an ice rink, funfair, German-themed bar, arts in the market, adventures of Alice in Wonderland, Christmas Canteen and funfair. The following are the free events to enjoy.
Christmas Lights Switch On
There will be a Christmas Lights Switch on event on Thursday – November 22, 2018 at Humberstone Gate West, Leicester. There will be jam packed events held between 5 pm to 8 pm and the lights switch on will happen at 6.20 pm. The evening will have live music, special guests (incl. ITV News Central weather presenter Des Coleman & star of Peter Pan, Sam Bailey, entertainment etc.
Christmas Canteen
There will be free entry to the great award winning street food fair for this Christmas eve along with live entertainment. The Christmas canteen will be held on Thursday – November 22, 2018 between 12 noon to 10.30 pm at New Market Square, Market Place, Leicester LE1 5HB. The entry to the market is free.
Traditional nativity scene and the adventures of Alice in Wonderland
You can enjoy an animated tableau scene and the Christmas story on Thursday – November 22, 2018 at Town Hall Square which is free.
Festive Funfair
From Friday, November 23 to Thursday – December 6, 2018, there will be a fairground and funny rides available at Humberstone Gate, Leicester and the entry to the family friendly fun fair is free.
