1. Free music concert by John Lewis choir
A free music concert has been organised in York by John Lewis’s Choir – the Vocal Vikings on Sunday evening – July 15 to raise money for the NSPCC. They will host the musical hits at the Vangarde Shopping Park store located at Management Suite, Vangarde Way, Huntington, York YO32 9AE between 5.30 pm to 7.30pm.
With special invitee guests, the concert will held on the day with refreshments and a raffle where all the funds raised will go to the children’s charity.
Gemma Lumley, the Vocal Vikings said that the team love to join together and make a day with the performance of their favourite songs and more special to have programme with a special good cause. They would like everyone to come and take part in the concert for supporting a good cause.
John Lewis Store Manager – Emma Greendale said that they feel proud about their Vocal Vikings and they are pleased to host such a programme to support NSPCC who do more for children.
NSPCC’s Fundraising Manager – Elaine Kaye said that they would like to thank the choir – Vocal Vikings for hosting a musical evening and is really wonderful that the choir has planned to fundraise for the NSPCC and the children in Yorkshire & the UK for whom they help.
2. Free taster session of Walking Cricket
There will be a free taster session on Walking Cricket held at Settle Cricket Club located at Marshfield Rd, Settle BD24 9DA, UK on Tuesday – July 17, 2018. The taster session is being scheduled between 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm mainly for those over the age of 55 years.
Walking cricket which has low impact, is best suitable for those aged 55+ who want to play sports but not able to do so. They can spend the entire afternoon in the ground as they wish to play.
The taster session is to encourage older people to get involved actively in sports. A qualified professional coach will help the participants and the session is supported by North Yorkshire Sport, Age UK North Craven and Settle county.
The taster is part of a North Yorkshire Sport project to get older people more active.
