The popular annual Cyclefest, a free cycling event, is returning on 5th September, Saturday, to Daventry Country Park, with many attractions, from 11:00am to 3:00pm. Danny Butler, champion rider, will be presenting as part of the event the Extreme Mountain-Bike Show. He is a 5-time British and European Trials mountain-bike champion.
Organised by the Daventry Distinct Council with a range of partners supporting, this 4th annual event will see here a mountain bike show, pedal powered smoothie makers, Scalextic game and sound systems, weird and retro bikes to try and a workshop on circus-skills by The Joker Entertainment. There’s also a workshop by Leisure Lakes Bikes and the Swing Bike Challenge run by Cycle Northants. There’s also a bouncy castle, face-painting, refreshments and a prize draw.
Daventry District’s community, culture and leisure portfolio holder, Councillor Alan Hills, said the free event aims to encourage people of all ages and abilities to try cycling. There will be lots of free family activities, information about guided rides and prizes to be won, he added. More details available at the website daventrydc.gov.uk/cycling.
