Free events will be running in Louth and Horncastle areas, during the Easter holidays, thanks to the Lincolnshire Chalk Steams Project, supported with a grant byNational Lottery. The project in Lincolnshire is partnership of itsCounty Council with The Wild Trout Trust, Environment Agency, Anglian Water, Lincolnshire Wolds Countryside Service and Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust.
The activities include fun-filled events for kids, like storytelling and enacting a play. On 3rd April (Tuesday), there’s a ‘Play in a Day’ by children. They will be helped in the morning by experienced staff for hosting the play, specially written about life on a chalk stream, in the afternoon.
There’ll be storytelling in the morning of 4th April (Wednesday), in Laceby, for children. Rhubarb Theatre will enthral youngsters from 10am to noon, with a talk about chalk stream creatures and it will be followed by a crafting session.
Community activity will be seen over a public right of way, on 6th April (Friday). This is an open event from 10:30am to 12:30pm, for residents to improve the habitat of chalk stream wildlife and be led by monitoring officer Will Bartle. Project Officer, Ruth Craig, said there’s something for everyone in the Lincolnshire Chalk Streams Easter events, with an experience of countryside and wildlife instilled.
The aim of the Lincolnshire Chalk Streams Project is to inspire better management of the chalk streams through advice, monitoring the water, education and restoration.
