Bideford will be hosting the Wicked Week for the second time, starting from 26th October (Saturday), outside the Mill Street Co-op and will run on to culminate on 31st October (Saturday), in the Ugly Ball at the Pannier Market. Ugly bugs will march along a lantern parade, starting at 6:00pm from the Jubilee Square and will march up to the ball, with the Mayor of the town in lead. The theme for last year was monsters. This year the theme is on bugs.
During the Wicked Week, one of the big highlights will be the ‘ugly bugs’ parade, marching through Bideford. The week will host Frankenstein treasure hunts, ghost walks, frightful fun workshops, etc., thanks to Business of Bideford (BOB) and Treppanning Through History. Westward Ho!Youth Theatre Group will also perform.
All the workshops here are free and will run form Monday to Friday, between 11:00pm and 3:00pm, to be conducted in Brideford Conservative Club. Funding for the event comes from the Town Council and Chamber of Commerce of Bideford. Nicole Hickin, BOB member, said they wanted to offer a free event to benefit the town and also give fun for people. Details of all the events can be seen in the Wicked Week Facebook page.
