Free events at UNESCO international Jazz Day in Glasgow

A line-up of events will celebrate the UNESCO International Jazz Day, on 30th April (Saturday), at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall of Scotland. The celebration includes free events and workshops. Todd Gordon and Ian Shaw will be giving evening performances and a free workshop for singers. Free live music by local amateur and professional jazz ensembles will be at the Jazz Club during day. The Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra will help babies and toddlers make their own music in two family-friendly events. There will be the GIOBabies workshop at 11am and GIOKids at 12 Noon. Events at Glasgow Royal Concert will coincide with events across the world, running from 11:00am to 11:30pm.

An open and free workshop will be run by Jazz Choir Scotland, at the New Auditorium, from 11am, led by big band leader Eliot Murray with pianist Jim Clelland. The Exhibition Club will be transformed into a daytime Jazz Club with great performances. The closing will have Late Night Studio Jazz perform, with Ian Shaw, in the City of Music Studio. Music Producer at Glasgow Life, Colin Hynd said the performances and activities are for the whole family, whether to make own music or sit back and enjoy, everyone is welcome to the Jazz Day.
