Free events at Selby’s first arts festival this summer

Selby town Council will be holding its very first arts festival this summer. The free Family Fun Day will be hosted across five venues in Selby, on 18th June (Sunday). The Scott Road Community Centre will be providing charity stalls, a dog show, donkeys, slides & rides and also music from noon by the Abbes Belles choir. The recreation ground will host from 12.30pm to 8.30pm seven live bands. From 1:30pm to 4:00pm, a Town Hall Tea Dance will be held. The bandstand at Selby Park will feature brass and silver bands, from 1pm to 4.30pm. Portholme Drive will feature a Vintage Motorcycle and Car Rally from 10pm to 2pm.

The annual Food & Drink festival will be from 9.30am to 5pm at Market Place. The Beer Festival too will be held here on 5th August, from 4pm to 11pm, with live bands playing from 6.30pm. On 4th November a free bonfire and fireworks display will start from 6pm. The Christmas Market and lights switch on is planned for 2nd December. Every third Saturday of the month will have the Farmers and Craft Market held at the Market Place, from 9am to 2pm. Selby’s free events, festival and local activities have been announced.
