The National Centre for Craft & Design is one of the largest venues in England which has 5 gallery spaces under one roof providing for exhibition, celebration and promotion of contemporary craft and design. There will be many free events and workshops conducted during October and November at the centre located at Navigation Wharf, Carre Street, Sleaford, Lincolnshire, NG34 7TW.
Maker Demonstration with Janet Wass
On Saturday – October 20, 2018, there will be a free session where Janet Wass will explain on how can make creations with acrylic material and metalworking techniques for creation of jewellery. Also she teaches the techniques of laser engraving and photo-etching. The session is being scheduled between 11 am to 3 pm.
Family Workshop
On Tuesday – October 23, 2018, there will be a free family workshop where you can create your own artworks. The session will be held between 10 am to 2 pm and this is drop in session.
Meeting session with Experts
On Friday October 12 and November 9, 2018, anyone aged 18 years & above can have a free one-to-one meeting with one of the Design Nation’s craft & design experts. Please book for this 45 minutes session in advance.
Gathering Hub
On Thursday – October 18 & November 22, 2018, there will be held various free activities along with their exhibitions & projects. These are friendly sessions which welcome all those want to relax, feeling isolated or with the conditions of Dementia or Parkinson’s. There will be many free creative activities taking place between 1 pm to 3 pm suitable for all ages and abilities in a safe environment with free refreshments.
Festival of Glass
On Saturday November 10, 2018 between 10 am to 5 pm, there will be free activities for a special weekend with talks, exhibitions, demos, masterclasses and family activities.
Maker Demonstration with Ruth Lyne
On Saturday – Nov 10, 2018, you can meet Ruth Lyne who will explain about the magic of using various materials that can be used within glass to create some extraordinary things. You can learn to know how to handle the materials to be used with the glass. The session will be held between 11 am to 3 pm.
