Are you an owner of horse farm or a yard manager? Then you should be aware of an infectious respiratory disease called Strangles.
There will be a free seminar “Strangles: Staying a step ahead” held on Tuesday – February 12, 2019 at House and Jackson Equine Hospital, Rookery Lane, Blackmore, Essex CM4 0LE, UK which is located near Chelmsford. The session will run from 6.30 pm.
The free event has been organised by Redwings Horse Sanctuary which is an equine welfare charity along with House and Jackson. A team of experts will tell the participants about easy and effective ways to stay safe and protect the horses and yards. They will explain about the facts from latest research and give practical advice to bring down at the maximum the risk of outbreaking of the disease. You can come to know the latest advice, ideas to make your own facilities, various techniques to bring good habits in your yard and various other information.
One of the speakers Nic de Brauwere who is a Redwings Veterinary Surgeon and one of the leading Strangles experts in the UK. He will do demonstration on protection of horses.
The event is being conducted as a part of “Stamp Out Strangles” which is Redwings’ award winning campaign aiming to wipe out the disease as the disease will seriously affect both the horse and the equestrian community.
Redwings’ Education & Campaigns Manager – Andie Vilela said that they are delighted to organize such free event along with House and Jackson, which is very important in their campaign. As this disease is outbreaking across the country continuously, bringing awareness among the owners of horses and implementing bio security measure will be very important. The thing is that following some proactive steps will help to reduce the risk of the disease and this will be explained in the seminar.
