Build your own satellite using the NanoSat design and the kit from Satellite Applications Catapult, at a free event on 26th and 27th September. The venue is at Satellite Applications Catapult, Electronic Building, on Fermi Avenue Harwell, in Didcot, Oxford.
This is a great chance to get hands-on experience in building a basic satellite. Get to know the code to operate these devices, based on modern embedded systems. During the weekend, participants get to understand the principles of a working satellite, from basic avionics systems up to operating an instrument on-orbit. Familiarity with basic programming in C on the Arduinos platform will help. So will knowledge of simple experiments with Raspberry Pi or Arduinos or mbeds.
Registration for the free event is for a team of four. If registered as an individual, they will be entered on the day into a team. For registration, FAQs or details please see the site- sa.catapult.org.uk/nanosat-weekend.
