The Southside Shindig, a celebration of culture, is a free event being held at the new Queen’s Park Arena, running from noon of 21st June, Saturday. It is funded by The Big Lottery’s programme called Celebrate. The free event being held at this venue, which is the restored bandstand that was destroyed by fire in 1996, will have this coming weekend a Commonwealth theme, with focus on countries like India, Malaysia, Pakistan and Singapore, besides Wales, England, Scotland and Ireland. Entertainment will be throughout the day. Performances there include Big Nose Govahill, Shawland Academy, Howlin Radio, Theatre Ecole, Miss Punjabeez Dancers and many more.
