There has been a free event for those people who suffer with Type 2 diabetes on Wednesday – May 1, 2019 at The Apollo Hotel, Aldermaston Rd Roundabout, Basingstoke RG24 9NU. The free event has been organized by Diabetes UK and North Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group and will run from 9.30am to 4pm.
The event is aimed on people with type 2 diabetes to know more information on healthy diet, reducing the risk of complications and become confident on their routine life. Around 10,000+ people are suffered with diabetes in Basingstoke and most of them suffer with type 2 diabetes.
There are more than 10,800 people diagnosed with diabetes in the Basingstoke area and around 90 per cent of these have Type 2. The participants will be provided with lunch and refreshments.
Dr.Christian Chilcott from North Hampshire CCG’s Clinical lead for diabetes said that those suffer with diabetes must take care of themselves. If they can well diabetes, they can able to reduce the risk of various complications including lower limb amputations, blindness, kidney failure and stroke. The free event will offer the participants more information to manage diabetes. The participants can meet and interact with health professionals.
