The South Holland District Council is organizing for free events to mark Mental Health Awareness Week running between May 13 to May 19 this year.
The Council’s Community Development Team has organized for various free activities on Saturday May 11, 2019 and Wednesday – May 15, 2019 at Ayscoughfee Hall, Churchgate, PE11 2RA Spalding, Lincolnshire. They will be hosting two happy healthy minds events for all to enjoy some time and get relaxed. The events will take place between 11 am to 4 pm.
In the UK, the Mental Health Awareness Week has been happening since 2001which has been organized to create awareness on various things such as relationships, friendship, stress, sleep, loneliness and alcohol. This year’s focus is on body image as last year people felt stressed and more concerned with their appearance and body image.
The events are open to all ages and abilities and there will be various opportunities offered to the participants such as relaxing exercise sessions like pure stretch & yoga, arts & crafts activites, gardening, guided walks, mindfulness sessions, equine therapy (only on Saturday) and many more. The participants can also find various stalls of local organizations to offer information on self care and other services available in the district for keeping mental health and well being.
All are welcome to the events and it is free to attend.
