There will be totally a free event of “One World by the Sea Festival” which is returning back on its second year to celebrate the international culture. The festival has been organised by the International Education Forum celebrating the diversity of local community and showcasing Bournemouth & Poole as the best areas for international students and visitors.
The festival and events will run for 3 days from Thursday – October 11 to October 13, 2018 at various locations of Bournemouth and Poole. There will be jam packed colourful, diverse events of culture with dance, music, food, performance and other activities along with the support of local community.
On Thursday – October 11
Between 11 am to 3 pm, there will be World Discovery Day events happening at BU International College 55-61, Holdenhurst Road, Lansdowne, Bournemouth BH8 8GN where you can enjoy with free events of international food, world music, face painting, international storytelling and challenges. Between 6 pm to 10 pm, those aged 18+ years can have a free entry to “One World Many Voices”, music programme at The Westbourne, 45 Poole Road, Bournemouth BH4 9DN.
On Friday – October 12
Between 12.30 pm to 5 pm, there will be free events “One World Pooles Together” where you can celebrate with international dances, various challenges, world music, international storytelling and travel inspired poetry around Poole High Street and Falkland Square.
On Saturday – October 13
On the last day of celebration will be the International Family Day, taking place from 11 am to 5 pm at The Triangle, central Bournemouth. The day will have various music, performances, food stalls and activities such as salsa sounds, chinese lion dance, Polish folk dance & song, announcement of winners of school competition, multi cultural choir, samba reggae funk, traditional Bulgarian dance, regional Mexican dance, children’s Russian dance and fusion of Afro, Latin & Carribean music, face painting, balloon entertainment, taster sessions, games etc.
