December 18th, 2015 by Sandy

The new human rights festival ‘Declaration’ will be exploring health and human rights in Glasgow, in 2016. The free event will host a mixture of performances, provocations, conversations and film screenings, with participation of leading performers, writers, campaigners and thinkers, coming from Scotland and from places beyond. The festival is planned to be held from 3rd to 6th March and details will be released later.

Declaration is being organised by the team that hosted Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival. It is a result of cooperation between the Health & Social Care Alliance Scotland (the ALLIANCE), the Mental Health Foundation, HHS Health Scotland and the University of Strathclyde.

The Director of Strategy at NHS Health Scotland, Cath Denholm, said they are very happy to support the festival and looking forward to play an active role in March. Neil Quinn of the University of Strathclyde, who is co-director of the centre for health policy, said they were delighted to be lead partner in Declaration, that will deliver a programme of free events that focuses on human rights and health.
