Free event of food and craft to be held in Alnwick

September 15th, 2015 by Sandy

A free event will be held on 19th September, Saturday, in Alnwick’s Market Place, Northumberland, which will be held from 10:00am to 4:00pm, to feature produce from the region at the food and craft stalls. The event fills the gap left by the Alnwick Food Festival, a popular event which is off the calendar this year but expected back in 2016. Visitors will see vendors serving street-food, hot meals and snacks and also take part in a town-trail quiz that will lead them around the restaurants, cafés and shops, after which the completed entries can be entered to win a food hamper in a prize draw.
‘A Taste of the North’ event is filling up the gap left by the food festival not held this year, and is supported by the town council with the chamber of trade. Philips Angier, Chairman of Alnwick Markets, said this free event filling the gap will be taking a donation of £5 from each participating stall to meet the cost of next year’s food festival.
