Free event in Thurrock for people with diabetes

Diabetes is a serious and important lifelong condition that can be controlled with proper diet, medication and exercise. Here you can get a chance to participate in the free evening event about diabetes services in Thurrock.

There will be a free event “The Diabetes Engagement Evening” held on Thursday – October 4, 2018 at Civic Offices Committee Rooms 2/3, New Road, Grays, RM17 6SL between 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm. The event has been organised by Thurrock Clinical Commissioning Group along with Diabetes UK and aims to help people with diabetes to know on what are the services available and about the feedback on those services. There will be available information stalls.

Diabetes UK will give 15 healthcare essential information. The Commissioners & service providers will tell about various local services available for diabetes in the area. There will be a workshop where the participants can give their feedback based on their experience and discuss with how the services are helping them.

Senior Commissioning Manager and Planned/Unplanned Care Lead for NHS Thurrock CCG – Kehinde Adeniji said that upon success of ‘Living with Diabetes’ event, they would like to offer people with diabetes a chance to gather and discuss with the healthcare professionals in Thurrock. The evening event is a great chance for people to attend in more convenient time and find out more about local services.

Diabetes UK East of England Improving Care Manager – Rebecca Jones said that they would like to motivate residences in Thurrock with diabetes to make use of such a wonderful event. To make further improvements in current services and bring better services, they want the feedback from the people. In Thurrock, there are around 8600 with diabetes.
