Rochdale Borough Council has organized for Rochdale Food & Drink Festival on Saturday – March 16, 2019 at Rochdale Town Hall, The Esplanade, Rochdale OL16 1AB. Various workshops, demos and activities will be running from 11 am to 8 pm on the day. There is free entry to the festival and some of the events are FREE. The festival is designed to suit well families, adults, kids and teenagers to enjoy.
The full day event will take place at the Town Hall inside and outside areas. There will be foodie workshops, chef demos, live music, cake competition, food stalls, producers’ stalls, family fun activities and kids entertainment activities taking place on the festival day. The event has been organized in association with Premier Kia.
The Festival Kitchen will be holding 6 cookery demo sessions of chef Andrew Nutter at 11.15 am, Dean Edwards at 12.15 pm & 3.15pm, Aazam Ahmad at 1.15 pm & 5.15 pm, Chefs from two Rochdale pubs – Austin Hopley (The Baum) and Adolfus Lewis (The Hare on the Hill) at 4.15pm. There will be Little Hens Cookery Class for kids aged between 2 to 10 years will be held at 12.30 pm, 1.30 pm and 2.30 pm which require ticket booking.
Mr.Bloom from CBeebies will be hosting ticketed shows featuring veggie stories, nursery songs, gardening games for both family and kids at 11.30 am, 1.30 pm and 3.30 pm at the Family Stage inside town hall and the ticket will include Free entry to “Shake, Rattle and Roll” sessions at 12.15 pm & 2.30 pm and suitable for kids aged between 0 to 4 years. Brighter Sound will give the kids a music making session where they can explore and learn music skills. The little ones can learn songs, games and activities.
There will be FREE demos & workshops running at the ground floor of the town hall.
Free Chocolate Making Creations sessions will be held at 11.30 am and 1.45 pm by the artisan chocolatier Claire Gilbertson.
Free “Mad Science Funstation will be held outside the hall at their pop-up station between 12 pm to 5 pm and get a chance to enjoy their fun experiments.
There will be Free Spectacular Family Science Show hosted by Mad Science at 1 pm and 3.15 pm where you can enjoy the high energy science with food & drink theme.
There will be live music sessions on the entire day presented by Jow Dunne at 12 pm, Hashtag group at 1 pm, Katie O’Malley at 2 pm and 25th Hour group at 4 pm.

There will be wide range of stalls of artisan and local produce such as chocolate, cheeses, cakes, honey chutneys etc inside the town hall. Foodies can also enjoy outside the hall with the stalls of street food traders include Halloumination, What’s Your Beef, Issan Friends and The Rockin Buddha. There will be fresh coffee and cocktails also available.
