Free entry to Magdalen College at Oxford

December 30th, 2018 by Sandy

It is their tradition that Magdalen College allows free entry on the New Year day for the visitors to visit their campus. The college is located at Oxford OX1 4AU and will be open from 11 am until 3 pm on the day of New Year for the public to visit their campus.

The college has its buildings, massive grounds covering gardens and a deer park. The visitors can go up to the fencing of the Deer Park which is an enclosed nature reserve and they can find many animals roaming around the reserve.

There is also Addison’s Walk area which is a riverside circular path with a mile of length to go around for a walk. The name for this path came after the writer Joseph Addison and C.S Lewis were walking along this riverside with his fellow inklings. At that time only Lewis wrote The Chronicles of Narnia.

The Oxford Society of Change Ringers will ring at the college from 11.30 pm on New Year’s Eve. For more information, please visit http://www.magd.ox.ac.uk/.
