A free event on dog-training will be run by the charity Wood Green, which runs the Gloucestershire animal shelter, that is aimed at families with pets in Peterborough. The free event, that will help people to stay safe with their pets, will be held on 1st February, Sunday, at William de Yaxley Academy on Lawrence Road, from 2:00pm. Separate tailored workshop sessions will be held for adults and children.
The adults will learn managing children and dogs that live together, dog-bite prevention, flash points, dog mood-management and body language. The Children’s session will cover training basics, behaviour and recognition of dog’s need for space, and learning of making of dog toys. At the end of the workshop sessions, the adults and kids will go for quiz against each other, to see who learnt the most.
Community Education Manager at Wood Green, Emma Hudgell, pointed out that the free workshops are designed to be fun and an essential guide to staying safe, suitable for families with dogs, or for those getting a new pet.
