As part of 200-day countdown to the beginning of the London 2012 Paralympic Games, free disability sports open day will be held at the Danes Camp Leisure Centre. This free disability sports open day will be on February, 11 Saturday. Every disabled person is entitled to take part in the sports. People aged size and over, along with their families can participate in the hour-long sports taster sessions at the event. Some of the games to be held at the event are boccia, wheelchair basketball, and new age kurling, and Football, volleyball and goal ball. Those who attend the event can enjoy a swim at the pool of
Leisure centre at 5pm. The hour long swim is sure to attract many.
Registration will be on the same day and it will last till 1.30pm. The event will take place from 2pm and will end by 6pm. Northampton Leisure Trust organizes the event and it is partnered by Northamptonshire Sport. The event is supported by Northampton Federation of Disability Sport, Voices in Action and Northampton Town Football in the Community.
Danes Camp will open disability multi-sports club every fortnight beginning from 5pm to 6pm. The new disability session will begin from Monday 5 March and disabled people aged six to 16 years can participate. Football, wheelchair basketball and boccia are the activities included in the session. It will cost £2.50 for each session.
