A free design workshop invites residents with a spark of creativity, to make fish bunting for a public art project of Harwich town in Essex. This additional workshop follows the successful first one, last month. This extra design workshop, named Fishy Business, wants people to get involved with next year’s festival ad its first planned public art projects.
Artistic participants can bring some wadding, scrapes of fabric and buttons, to make fabric fish bunting. The decorations can be simple or intricate, as bright and colourful as possible. People can also participate by donating wadding, buttons and colourful fabric at the Harwich Library’s Harwich Box Office. Templates and instructions are available here and completed fish bunting can be dropped here between 1st February and 1st June. They will be displayed during the Harwich Festival at various locations, between 21st June and 21st July.
Michael Offord, general manager for Harwich Festival, said the first workshop was well attended, but many people busy on the date missed it and had contacted them. So, they decided to run an extra workshop in February, he added. The free workshop by Harwich Festival, will be held on 10th February (Saturday), at Harwich Library, from 10:30 am till 12 noon.
