Free training sessions on cycling are being organised for children, during the National Bike Week, in Bexhill. The free beginners session under the nation-wide ‘Bikeabiliy’ scheme is being held by CycleSafe, organised by Denise Lomas, at the De La Warr Pavilion (DLWP). Children 6 years and above can book a free session (1-hour group session) for 15 July, Sunday, between 10am and 4pm. Free bike safety check-up will be provided at DLWP venue, supported by the local Bexhill Wheelers and 1066 Cycle Club.
The ‘Bikeability’ training given by Cyclesafe is right from beginners to advanced level. The ‘Bikeability’ scheme is developed by the Central Government and organisations like the Cyclists’ Touring Club, Sustrans and Cycling England. They give children and adults the confidence and skills needed to ride safely on our roads today. Cyclesafe has aims to make more people take to cycling, more often and more safely. Cycling is also one of the easiest methods of exercising. To book, get forms at DLWP, Rother District Council, or email to- training@cyclesafesoutheast.co.uk, or go to site- cyclesafesoutheast.co.uk.
