For those adults who feel unsteady on a bike, here’s the free opportunity to go steady. The Big Wheel, local transport group, is on a drive to help grown-ups ride confidently their bikes, by handing out vouchers for cycle training, free for adults. The Post’s Good Deeds Notts is acampaign that aims over the next 12 months, to get a thousand groups, individuals and organisations, to do something good. The cycling charity is giving away these vouchers as part of it. ParkLives Family Fun Day held at Forest Recreation Ground, was a great event for families, part of it. The Big Wheel instructors were giving lessons here to youngsters who tried out bicycles, like penny farthings, recumbent trikes and other unusual bikes. Jo Castle, qualified instructor, was also at the event.
Jo Castle said it’s important to give instructions if cyclists are heading out on the road. A lot of adults have come for help and extra lessons, she added. She also said a lot of people have forgotten things learnt as a kid and they help build their confidence, but many don’t have road sense and anyone riding a bike should have these lessons. Tiffany Jackson Bieeu, event marketing officer, said they wanted to support communities across Nottingham and the group by taking part in Good Deeds campaign got the chance to spread their message to people.
