The ‘Food for Life’ programme will be hosting in London,10 free cooking classes in Camden, on every Tuesday, until the end of August. The classes being held, run from 7:15pm to 9:30pm, at Allensbury Place, in the Allensbury Residents Room, found on Maiden Lane Estate.
The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), led by Dr. Neal Bernard, has devised the programme, where Klaus Mitchell and Farrah Rainfly will be in action. The classes have been designed to help lose excess weight, while improving health and to learn to cook delicious and easy meals that are vegan. Every class focuses on nutrition topics, with a qualified cooking instructor guiding participants, going over preparation of easy-to-prepare and tasty recipes. The 2-hour classes has hands-on cooking with a supportive group. They learn about how nutrients work and foods to fight disease and promote health.
The director of nutrition education for PCRM, Dr. Susan Levin, MS, R.D., said vegetables, fruits and wholegrain foods are full of fibre, naturally low-fat and rich with antioxidants and phytochemicals, which naturally boost metabolism. The challenge is not teaching about food good for people, but how to make it taste good. Places for the free classes are given on a first come, first served basis.
