Free community courses offered by Blaenavon World Heritage Centre

Free Community CoursesFree courses are offered by Blaenavon World Heritage Centre with the aim of encouraging people to learn more about local heritage. The 12 week long course will begin on Thursday, April 26. Known as ‘Exploring Heritage in the Field’ the free course will be held at Blaenavon World Heritage Centre from 10am to 12 noon. Those who attend the courses will not only learn about the historical sites in the area but also learn heritage management for tourism and conservation. It covers hidden as well as popular historical areas.

Ceri Cadwallader, Forgotten Landscapes Education Officer is very pleased to offer such courses as it will enable people to realize and appreciate richness of the landscape. Basics of Botany can be learnt at the Botanical Heritage’ course. It will give you enough information to recognize plant species in a variety of upland habitats. This Course will be held at World Heritage Centre between 7pm and 9pm, every Thursday.

The course ‘The Story of Blaenavon World Heritage Site’ gives you a chance to understand industrial development in Blaenavon to be recognized as World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
