A free safety check-up of catalytic converters is being offered at a police event for motorists. Drivers can bring in their cars to Kwik Fit, in Slough, situated on Bath Road, on 30th January, Friday, where they can get their catalytic converters on their motor vehicles checked-up and marked. They can also get for free their number plates secured with a tamper-resistant kit. Crime prevention tips will be given to them by the neighbourhood police there.
Police officer of the Local CID at Slough, Detective Sergeant Madoc Jones, said that theft from vehicles is down in Slough this year, but remains an ongoing challenge for them and the neighbourhood teams. He also said the free event will help prevent vehicle crimes for residents and help to prevent themselves, and also encouraged owners of vehicles to use this free service being offered.
