The city read festival in collaboration with Waltham Forest council is a literary festival starting next month, April. As part of the literary festival which is a month-long, free books will e given away across Waltham Forest, to encourage people to take to reading. The festival will be hosting various free events too. Some of them are family art workshops, a ‘literary cruise’ on the river Thames and a talk from the author Ben Aaronovitch.
The author’s book ‘Rivers of London’, a fantasy-crime fiction book, is the focus of the Cityread 2015 campaign. The Waltham Forest council is marking the occasion by offering free copies of the book to reading groups of the borough. The author is hosting on 10th April, a talk about his book at the Wathamstow Library (in High Street).
