Avira has recently launched free antivirus software. Apple Mac users can benefit from this free offer and get the systems secured from malicious software programs. With this launch, this German security company becomes one among the software providers to offer such provision. Kaspersky LabPC Tools, Symantec and McAfee are the few of the security software companies to offer paid security software. Sophos is a provider offering free product for MAC.

With the increase of Apple MACs, the malicious software programs targeting the system increases. Consequently, the need for such security software arises. Avira offers free antivirus software that will help MAC users compute safely. The product will not contain any marketing or advertising pop-up ads, claims the provider.

In 2009, Apple introduced XProtect, an antimalware tool in an attempt to safeguard the MAC users. The tool updates periodically to detect new malware. Apart from the Avira free antivirus software, the company has introduced a remote management application for free. Android users can benefit from this application. This will enable the users to loc, locate and erase the contents of the phone, remotely. With the web-based interface, the Android user can display call owner message along with a number on the device.

This will help in the location of the Android phone on Google maps. Users can also command the device to make a sound for 20 seconds. The free application is designed for Android 2.2, known as Froyo, and 2.3, Gingerbread.
