Free Amazon Academy Event at Newcastle for SMEs in the North East

Since successful beginning in 2016, the Amazon Academy events were held at various locations across the UK during 2017 and more than 1200 SMEs and entrepreneurs were benefited. The first event for 2018 took place in Glasgow in the month of April.

Now the second event of Amazon Academy is being held at Crowne Plaza Stephenson, Quarter, Forth Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 3SA United Kingdom on June 5, 2018 between 9 am to 4 pm. The free event has been organised by Amazon in conjunction with Enterprise Nation.

The aim of this event is to provide advice and practical support to SMEs on how to improve and increase their export sales using digital infrastructure. They will provide various information, suggestions and tips on how to use e-commerce to make their business grow, enhance their exports and to improve better customer satisfaction & experience and the experts are from Amazon, Enterprise Nation, the Department for International Trade, the North East Local Enterprise Partnership and successfull small businesses which achieved using e-commerce. Also one can visit the exhibition stalls where they can have one to one interaction for experts’ advice.

Amazon’s UK Country Manager – Doug Gurr said that they want to provide help and support for the growth of SMEs in Newcastle and across the North East to increase their productivity, revenue and boost their exports and also to bring healthy economy as well as creation of job opportunities.

Minister of State for Trade and Export Promotion – Baroness Fairhead said that the global demand for UK’s products are growing which shows the companies in UK are succeeding and also he is happy about the association of Amazon Academy with DIT in supporting small businesses in the region.
