UK’s largest free celebration of the natural world, the Festival of Nature, will be celebrated on 25th June, in Bath. The day also marks the climax of river themed events running for two weeks, set into a fitting grand finale to the adventure organised across River Avon. For the first, time the festival in its 15 year history is celebrating the waterscapes in the region, running from Bristol to Bath.
The festival opens with a willow sculpture of the Spirit of Avon leading the procession. It will make its way via Royal Victoria Park to the venue of the main event. The WaterSpace Partnership is organising the events for the programme, with many local groups and volunteers joining it. All are free activities without charges. The programme includes canoe safaris, citizen science activities, batwalks and others. Details of the 2-week programme (from 18th June) are on the website- festivalofnature.org.uk.
