First Edinburgh Digital Entertainment festival to open doors

A two-week event will be taking place at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh next month, called Edinburgh Digital Entertainment Festival. The first such event in the Scottish city, it will be held from 4th August to 28th August. The event will open its doors to British firms in gaming, with heavy focus on VR, with a series of workshops and talks to follow.

The show’s Tech Hub expo welcomes developers to exhibit free at the event, where several big topics will be prominent. ‘Gaming’ will be in focus on the 8th and 9th August. On 15th and 16th August there will be talks dedicated to ‘VR’ and ‘future technologies’. 22nd August will see focus on arts and entertainment of the “next generation”.

Attendees coming to the workshop will be given free entry to the Tech Hub. Exhibitors here include names like HTC Vive, VRTGO, Lord Miller Productions, Reflex Arc, Sky R & D, Flying Object and BBC R & D, with also indie studios participating.
