The Thames Valley Police (TVP) will be organising a cyber crime awareness event for the first time. The free event is on 30th November and is from 9am to 12:15pm, being held at the Cornerstone Arts Centre in Didcot (Oxfordshire). This meeting by TVP, one of the largest police forces of UK, covering Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire, is open to small businesses in the Thames Valley area.
Experts on hand will talk about the risks of cyber crime, along with specialists from the police force. Presentations will also be given by experts from Lloyds Bank, Get Safe Online, London Digital Security Centre and Kaspersky Lab. They will also answer questions regarding cyber crime. A series of interactive workshops will be held by the Oxford Cyber Security Cluster, that will demonstrate how vulnerable businesses can be to cyber crimes.
The Head of Specialist Operations at TVP, Det. Supt. Nick John, said this free event presents a great opportunity to small businesses to find out about threats that could exist, that can affect their businesses. He pointed out that it is easy to be complacent, but businesses are being affected on a daily basis by cyber crimes and this has to be taken seriously.
