Festival of Nature starts with BioBlitz at Oldbury Court, Bristol

Here is the wonderful chance for wildlife explorers of all ages to discover nature, as the Festival of Nature gets under way in Bristol. The free events are on 15th May (Friday) and 16th May (Saturday). The programme will start-off with the first event, the BioBlitz at the Oldbury Court Estate. This will be a first in a series of special events throughout the summer, as part of Bristol’s year as the European Green Capital.
The Festival of Nature is a product of collaboration by Bristol Natural History Consortium with 12 of Bristol’s biggest natural history organisations. The BioBlitz event will have bug-hunting, moth-trapping, spider-spotting, worm-charming, etc. Kids, adults and beginners can interact with experts and go on dawn walk, a tree trail, follow tracks, etc. There will also be stalls, talks, demonstrations , competitions, arts and crafts.
All are free events and activities and can be booked. They run from 5:00pm on Friday (15 May) up to 5:00pm on Saturday (16 May). Many activities can be also joined in just then. More info available at Base Camp at the Play Park or for mote details visit the site- festivalofnature.org.uk.
