A brand new Felixstowe Ferry Festival will be celebrated from August 24 to August 27, 2018 enjoying at the seaside at Various venues, Felixstowe Ferry IP11 9RZ. The festival will have tiny fishing hamlet at the River Deben and will provide a mix of entertainment, arts, crafts stalls, workshops and various fun activities. Join in this summer holidays along with your family and friends to enjoy the wonderful moments. Admission to the festival is free.
The ferry fest is a wonderful event in the community which celebrates arts and culture of the community with 4 days of celebrations. Various programmes and events of crafts, arts, dance, live music, theatre, photography, beer & cider, beachcombing, hog roasts, family day with pirate theme, picnics and many more. These will be hosted by Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club, the Millennium Green and St Nicholas Church.
With the lovable natural location of River Deben estuary, the festival offers local storytelling, wildlife walks & talks, plastic pirate, photography competition, Captain Fanplastic. These events are designed to highlight the issues of marine conservation & pollution.
The events schedule:
On Friday 24 August, a launch event by The Craze and J.S. and the Lockerbillies.
On Saturday 25 August with Photography workshop and walk with Justin Minns, Surge, Ceilidh.
On Sunday 26 August – Musical in a Morning, Nature Walk with Tim Kenny, Flamenco Workshops, I Must Go Down to the Sea Again, Quartetto Familia, Back in Business.
On Monday 27 August – Fun family pirate activities, Live music and pop up stories, Captain Fanplastic, Help create an enormous plastic pirate, Push the Boat Out. Try sailing.
With free admission, there is low ticket prices for some of the events and some are free of charge to make it as a special event for the community. Free shuttle transport service will be provided from Felixstowe Town Centre to Felixstowe Ferry to avoid congestion.
