Free FridgeThe best reflections of experiences with Lec could get a free fridge from the company eternally connected to Bognor Regis.

The present proprietor of LEC of Glen Dimplex Home Appliances, has stated that his firm would offer a free fridge as reward for the winner of the competition that would be held to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the brand.

The firm that owns the place where the fridge freezer factory was located till the previous year has taken a decision to present the T5309W model combination fridge freezer to the winner who provides the most appealing tale or experience they had with LEC in their building that was situated in Shripney Road.

People who were interested in participating in the competition had to ensure that their entries were sent to Sime Darby London Ltd., Widdowson House, Shripney Road, Bognor Regis PO22 9NG or they would have to send an email to the www.simedarby.co.uk website. The last date for the receipt of entries would be the 20th of June.

The reward was in the form of a donation and was given during an exhibition that was held lately in the town’s museum. The theme of the show was related to the history of Lec in Bognor.

The exhibition that lasted six days was a runaway success and it was attended by many of the ex-staff of Lec who enjoyed relating their experiences with the firm.

Some even contributed items including a cut-away compressor that was utilized during training, while many others penned down their remembrances.

The show exhibited pictures when the factory in Lec was doing complete production and a time-lapse video clip displayed the location being emptied for a novel Sainsbury Shop.

All things would be preserved in the West Street Museum and this would mark the beginning of a Lec Library.
