What better way to marvel at Christmas Lights and brilliant window displays in Plymouth, than in a ride on the land train! The land train will be getting a festive makeover before it starts to offer free rides to passengers around Plymouth city from 17th November. The Christmas land train will be navigated by Santa Claus and his elves. The train dressed up in festive colour and decorations, will be running trips from every Wednesday, up to Sunday, from noon till 5:30pm. For late night shoppers, an extended trip time too would be put in on Thursdays.
Thanks to the funding from the City Centre Company, the train rides are a free service. Graham Pearce who owns the land train said it is a great atmosphere and lovely route to see the lights at night and they looks forward to holding the event each year. Graham and partner Jenny are happy to ferry people across the city, right down to the West End, on the Christmas land train, which will start runs from 17 November and go on till Christmas Eve.
