Christmas and winter activities have started off at Ilford town, in north-east London, and you can join the celebration too. There is free ice-skating at the family skating rink on High Road, from 17th December to 24th December, from 11am to 6pm, where residents can try skating with Skating Penguins to help them and the little ones.
There’s also the winter street food fair, offering Italian pizza, jerk chicken and a variety of delicacies from across the UK, during 10th and 11th December, from 10am to 6pm. There’s a pop-up cinema at Ilford Exchange, which will be showing Christmas classics like Nightmare Before Christmas, Polar Express, Elf and Arthur Christmas. Until Christmas day, a film will be shown every weekend at 11:30am and at 2:30pm, and dates include 21,22,23 and 24 December.
If you like entertainment on stage with audience participation, head to the 2016 pantomime- Rapunzel, which runs from 8th December to 14th January. Enjoy magical effects, spectacular scenes, adventure, as well as the songs, dazzling costumes and laughter, of this wonderful panto production.
Father Christmas too will be arriving at the borough to visit the children and hear their presents list at his grotto in Redbridge Central Library, on Clements Road, in situ at various times until the 25th December, adding to all the free activities in Christmas spirit.
