Government has induced Energy providing firms to offer free loft and wall insulation to all people in the UK.
Would anyone ever throw away three hundred pounds when it is offered free just because they cannot be bothered to go out and collect it? Surely not, particularly in these hard times everybody would make a bee line to grab the offer.
Unfortunately there are many people in the UK who are not availing of a gift that is more or less of the same value or for that matter higher in value by not paying attention to what is being offered by the big time energy companies. These firms are offering to provide free insulation in homes.
Though it may sound rather dull, especially since it is summer and the heaters are generally switched off, but come the winter and everyone would begin worrying about their energy bills.
The Government has requested firms supplying energy to provide free loft and wall insulation to all people in the UK and as the offer would soon be taken off, it would be in everyone’s interest to act immediately.
Particularly good deals are available for those who are over 70 years of age as benefits or for those who have an income that is 16,190 pounds or lower. However those people who are staying on rent, in apartment buildings and maisonettes, housing colonies, or on properties belonging to the council may not quality for the offer and people living in bigger houses may have to pay a certain amount of money for the insulation.
Some of the companies offering this free insulation scheme:
- EDF is providing free lost and cavity wall insulation to not only their consumers, but people using energy from other companies. In order to avail of a home examination people have to submit an application before the 12th of October. In addition, the company also offering a cash amount of 200 pounds to people who just register for the scheme and availing of benefits like Child Tax Credit, and also people who have an income equal to or lower that 16,190 pounds.
- Consumers of British Gas will also be provided with free insulation and also to people who have state benefits and with an income that amounts to 16,190 or less. However this offer is valid only till the 31st of July. Their offer also includes a cash reward of 50 pounds for any person who refers another person who is availing benefits for the energy. It would be good to bear in mind that insulation. The referred will also receive the same amount.
Other deals akin to these can be availed of from competitor companies, so it would be best to enquire of one’s service provider for additional information. Getting free insulation done is worth the effort because electricity bills can sometimes go up sky high and with just one fourth of the heating leaking out through the roof of the house. Therefore remember that good and proper insulation is something that can save a person over 200 pounds annually by way of energy bills.
