A dog show will be returning to Sherdley Park on 2nd July, Saturday, that will entertain and educate the public. Canine Capers will be giving a dazzling display of tricks at the park in St. Helens, in the weekend. The show will start at 12pm on Saturday, which includes a dog rescue and flaming hoops. A special appearance of British Champion dry sled handler with his huskies will be this year’s bonus. His team of huskies will show off skills with a ‘rig’.
Health checks on dogs by the PDSA and free nail clipping service by groomers will be offered at the free event. Information will be provided on dog welfare, micro-chipping and training establishments. Visitors to the park can take part in competitions. Charities like Guide Dogs for the Blind, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, re-homing charities and suppliers of handmade leather products will be having stalls. The event will see a project by St. Helens Council- Tiks-Pac, be launched. The council will be the first local authority in North of England to start such a project. They will provide poop scoop hags that are bio-degradable, from specialist base stations soon to be located in the borough’s parks.
